BakedGoods
Directions
- Cook the beef: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it into small pieces. Drain excess grease and let it cool slightly.
- Fill the pastry: Unfold the puff pastry and gently smooth the seams. Spread the cooled beef over half of the pastry, then sprinkle the cheese evenly on top.
- Shape the twists: Fold the empty half over the filling and press gently. Cut into strips about 1 inch wide. Twist each strip several times and place them on the baking sheet. Brush with beaten egg.
- Bake: Bake for 15–20 minutes, until puffed and golden brown. Let cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
Quick Tips
- Keep the puff pastry cool while working with it for better results.
- For extra flavor, add a little garlic powder or Italian seasoning to the cooked beef.
- You can prepare the cooked beef a day ahead and refrigerate it until needed.
- If the pastry becomes too soft, refrigerate the prepared twists for about 10 minutes before baking.
